I had 15K miles on my 2.3t 2002 9-5 when it failed on a hot August night and left me stranded five miles from the border in Canada. I was driving on the highway at 70 mph and suddenly could not accelerate. My routine driving is a combination of 70% around town and 30% highway.
Dealer in Windsor was unable to identify the cause of my breakdown (the car, that is!), so I drove home and the problem reappeared.
