and the reason you experienced the resin cracking is because
it was not mixed right.
the economic cost for a business to use only fiberglass mat and risen to fix all the cars is absolute absurd, in a matter of weeks the body shop would belly up.
only reason is because of the mix.
if the resin is not mixed with enough hardener the resin will be soft and crack, if to much is used it will crack.
but for a owner of the car to do small batches to find the correct mix, then mix a new batch for the mat and apply it to the car, it is uncrackable.

im sure you had patched holes with it,
and i don't know why you would say nothing sticks to 100% fiberglass
only thing i come up with is you only used the resin to fill the holes because if you had used the fiberglass mat, it is 100% fiberglass and when its mixed with the resin the mat turns into a clear sheet of a thick kind of plastic.
there is no way a shop would do the trial and error, and if the shop had one guy that got the mix every-time, he is the only one out of the hole shop just because the resin is the base of the job, its a runny liquid that wants to set up in minutes,
a person at the shop would mix it on the counter walk over to the car being worked on and the resin would be dry (if it was mixed right)
this is why the cost of using fiberglass (100%)is so high
that is if one can find someone to do it.

and Doug in no way needs to explain himself,
although i respect every-ones point of view in no way do i think he would need to explain himself, he is not the bondo corporation
and even they are doing their job,
and someone can own and do what ever they want, dose not mean i have more or less respect for them, same goes for a guy sleeping on the street corner.

and just to show what extra resin (mixed right) looks like i added a pic.
in no way can i snap it in half.
it was mixed with the correct hardener and set up in 5 to 6 minutes, hardened hole in 20 minutes.
its allot of resin (with out fiberglass mat)
to go to wast, and in this area you are correct. there is no fiberglass in this block of resin. the resin is to activate the fiberglass mat. (100% i should add)
