The only issue I ran into with the 2.2-2.4 swap on my 1986 CV was the interface with the instrument cluster. The LH 2.4 requires a speed signal from the speedo, and there is a different connector on the 2.4-compatible speedos. The signal is probably not different, but I swapped speedos anyway. And this required changing the cruise control harness and the speedo cable.
The other instrumentation issues were:
Shift up light (yes, I like to keep it... I can ignore it if I don't like it being on...): Polarity problem. The separate system on 2.2 cars sends +12v to the cluster to light the light, while the LH 2.4 grounds the lead...
Check Engine light: I don't recall right now what the issue was, but I don't think I ever got both the DI/APC and LH 2.4 working the CEL properly.
Other than that, it was pretty much plug & play. You need to take apart the dash, change the brackets for the ECU (sometimes - if you have an 88-89 turbo not necessary, as those brackets take either the 2.4 or 2.2 box, IIRC), run the harness out through the hole in the inner fender, then snake the new harness back in & plug it all in. If you're converting an 88/89 turbo to 2.4, it should go much more smoothly, since the non-turbos had 2.4 at this time.
