I'm wondering if you put in another bad ignition switch. We had a similar problem that went away when a new iggy switch was put in.
Also, if one of the tabs on the gear under the key cylinder is bad, or the bottom of the key cylinder is cracked or partially broken, turning the key will not completely actuate the electrical portion of the ignition switch. Did you pull out the key cylinder to look at the bottom and the gear tabs that interface with it?
Check the connection on the solenoid to make sure that the male/female connector is solid and the nut on the solenoid connection is fully tightened down. That was another of the issues we had with the same type of malady.
