Actually, there were some other problems, with the radio and brake lights, which led me to thinking about the problem possibly being with the source of power. Ultimately, it was the slow engine cranking, with a known fully charged battery, that made me suspicious. Now that I look back, it seems like I should have thought of that much sooner. Oh well................
