I think the point that SimonS was making is that the dielectic grease is not good for electrical connections, but it is good for sealing boots ( like the spark plugs ) that are nearby. So, using the grease on the spark plug boot rather than the electrical tip was suggested.
My question was based upon that -- if you used the dielectic grease on the boot of the COIL, to keep it sealed, and did not use it on the electrical connections themselves.
