OK -- I'm a virgin to the age old debate, so when I read that I had been doing things wrong for decades, I was rather embarrassed. I used to dip the end of a tail light into the grease, and then mount it into the socket which may have had another slathering of the stuff. I had been doing that for years, and then read that I was stopping the electrons from moving from point A to point B.
OK, so to each his own I guess.
I thought the stuff was just for keeping the spark from jumping past the boot on a spark plug or to make a better seal on tail lights that are prone to water intrusion.
I think I may have saved enough money over the last few years to send my daughter to college after I got off the stuff though...not sure I want to start up the habit again......:-)
