90 SPG a/c on (hot outside) triggers CEL then throttle issues..?

Had a sporadic CEL for the past month as temperatures start to warm up. No issues beyond the light itself. Seemed triggered by sitting long at a stop light, then when I Resume speed, light goes off. Now that we're in truly hot weather, I turn my a/c on and almost immediately it triggers the CEL. Within a minute of that, the engine starts to stumble, and if I come to a stop, will stall. Re-starting is difficult, as if it's flooded. Turn a/c off, problem goes away. This has happened on two hot days in a row. Took car out tonight at dusk in the cool of the evening. Didn't turn on a/c, no issues for 5 mile ride. As I neared home I turned on the a/c....and zero problems! No CEL, no idle stumble, no attempts to stall. The variable between the three rides: Ambient temperature seems to be the only thing. Any ideas what is causing the CEL, and CEL related to a/c use that would cause stumbling idle and stalling? This board has saved me hundreds in hourly fees at my indy, (until that pesky '93 9000 Aero almost killed my love for SAABs!) Hoping to hear some good ideas that I can sort thru tomorrow. Thanks in advance to anyone that takes the time to respond! Cheers, Bob
