Thanks for responding gents! Here's the info and the back story: Yes, full EGR system still in place. Converted to 134 before I got it, five years ago. Car exhibited similar behavior two years ago, without any involvement of A/C. Never read codes then, because I didn't have the ability. After swapping out things item by item, (because I've got a decent stash of parts and I'm a SAAB guy) from the FPR to the ECU itself, it seemed to point to a defective IAC valve. I replaced that with a known-good used one that I cleaned before install. No problems related to that for two years now. The current post from yesterday states what's going on currently. I've never read a code on a SAAB in my 25 years of ownership. I talked to one of our mechanics at work today and explained my current issues. He pulled up a bunch of pertinent info from the web and made me a fused jumper. Told me to attach to ground and plug into diagnostic terminal, (no idea where that lives) and count light flashes on the CEL to determine issue. All potential failure components are listed in the info he gave me with their corresponding codes. This message board and a great stash of parts has always got me back in traffic, until the dreaded '93 Aero I spoke of with TCS. THAT car forced me to go to my indy to sniff out the codes quite a few times. No 900 has ever made me do that...until this one! I guess I'm long overdue, huh? That's my story and I'm stickin' to it! Over the weekend I'll go poking around.... by the way: Where is the diagnostic connector on a 1990 900? :) Bob
