Replaced the MAF, as my mechanic had suggested, and finally solved the issue. To recap: Temp sensor showing bad. Replaced. Vern suggested EGR removal via Saab bulletin, and I liked the sound of that. Done. Replaced MAF sensor with used one from another 1990 SPG, (I have a good parts stash!) All is well again! It was a path that was truly impossible to completely navigate without Chris, (my mechanic) at the helm. I'm absolutely sure that the temp sensor was wonky as he had said from his scan results, but the MAF sensor assessment was just his years of experience taking over beyond all the electronic technology his scan tool offered. His ability combined with the input of some tried and true SAAB folks here on this site saved the day....again. It truly was a complex problem that was possibly three layers deep, as the discoveries showed. No small task to diagnose! Thank you to all who offered assistance here. I truly appreciate it and hope that I can return the favor one day! Love my SAABs!! Have a Happy Fourth of July everyone! Cheers, Bob
