Thanks jimmy// this seems like the right script to follow and manageable.
I have the Bentley, but don't have the pressure gauge.
I am hopeful that the fuel pump in the tank now was a working replacement installed during the work before me. I'll still open it all up and inspect and remove the fuel. I did find two used fuel pumps and one sender unit on the passenger front floor.
The air flow and fuel distribution unit that I found wrapped up, I will take your advice and plan on just installing it to replace the one that's on the car now. What I am probably going to do is take the old one I remove and try my hand at replacing those o-rings in that one, mainly because I am curious how it all looks inside... plus I could have a ready to go back up if it works.
