I'm using a 134 bulk tank supply, not cans.
But I have wondered about the tank pressure vs. the system pressure. I've researched a lot of DIY AC-system recharge videos and most techs (car and HVAC) seem to prefer the tank upside down on the scale; I've been rigidly adhering to these examples.
But I'm now seeing this method may be a problem...
Upside down is meant for blended refrigerants (like residential use) because the liquid ingestion helps guarantee an accurate mix of the different gas components. But 134a is a single-component refrigerant meaning consistency is not a concern.
I may try arranging the tank in normal upright position and see if ingesting the gas instead of the liquid will make any difference.
