Re: 93 900 Turbo Clutch Bleeding Posted by StoicBlue87 [Email] In Reply to: 93 900 Turbo Clutch Bleeding, eric in vermont |
In my past few clutch bleeding adventures, I've used the "pressurize from the slave" method with great success. I've even rigged up a clear vinyl hose that uses an adapter to connect with a bigger-sized hose such that I can pour brake fluid into the bigger hose (almost as a reservoir) and then carefully blow with my mouth into the hose and force the fluid into the slave and up through the clutch line back into the brake reservoir. I'm careful to maintain solid fluid connection between nipple and top of vinyl hose.
I guess it's the redneck version of a large syringe.
Works pretty well. During a slight out-of-town trip a few years ago, I even used this method in an Ace Hardware parking lot after suffering a clutch loss because of a fluid leak from a loose slave nipple. Ace had the hose sizes and the brake fluid. Made it home without issue while muttering to myself about checking my work.
