That was a good read. I have the Bentley and had forgotten to check the online manual.

Now here's something in the manual that I don't think was in the Bentley:

"Don't depress the clutch pedal further than necessary to remove the spacer. The lip seal may other wise be pressed out too far, and hydraulic fluid will then leak out and the seal will be damaged."

So does that mean that if the spacer used to depress the fingers is too big, pressing the clutch pedal too far will ruin the slave? Not trying to overthink things, but I'd HATE to ruin a new slave and have to do the job all over again.

I used an old 7mm spark plug wire as a spacer to get the assembly out- that came from the Bentley. It of course squished quite a bit, making disassembly a struggle. I found some copper stranded power cord about the same size and put that in with my press. It doesn't squish nearly as much and I'm thinking it will make assembly easier. BUT, it seems if it's too thick, I'm in danger of ruining the slave. Note that I have the pressure plate with the smaller diameter hole.

Any thoughts on that?
