I think the perceived increase in power was an increase in torque actually getting to the ground. I mean, we're talking real gears vs. a torque converter. It's obvious what transmission is more efficient - the one that makes less heat!
Man o man do I want to convert this thing over, but I'm still in college and I'll be married in 8 days....yikes! It's gonna be a while before I can afford it. Maybe I'll store my saab for a few years at my folk's place and drive some little rusty econo-beater.
I wanna get a decent clutch too, not some mushy little stock one. What about lightened flywheels? Anybody tried one? Are they still driveable on the street without looking like an ass?
