If you like these sorts of projects and really don't mind spending all the money then it's possible to do it. Are you really attached to the car? It makes much more sense to get a newer car that is 5-spd. Around here you can get a 91 w/ 5-spd for about $2500. - why spend the money and have all the headaches converting a car? It's not economically sound and you are guaranteed to have niggling problems after. There is a guy who has done it on this board - he will tell you (at length) what he did. There are pedals, master cyl., cruise control, and electrics involved, not just the trans, clutch, flywheel, and driveshafts.
