I know the kind of morning you're talking about. SOmetimes it just comes off wrong.
I, for one, get better mileage than the EPA estimate on both my 9000 Aero and my dad's 9-5...oh, and my brother's '97 900SE. Nothing huge, mind you, but I do exceed 30 MPG on the highway (Sometimes, I acheive 31-33), and I'm pretty sure the stickers all said something in the high 20's. As for the city, I'm in the mid-low 20's on that, but I live in a small city (Bozeman, MT).
Anyway, no hard feeling from here on your posts. SOmetimes it's good to get a realistic (contrary) comment in there.
I do think that Joe has a good point though. I often ask myself what kind of car I want to end up with to replace my 9000 Aero...in the not-so-near-future, that is. I begin to wonder about what cars would deliver the fun-factor of the the Aero as well as the utility and efficiency. There are a lot of faster cars out there now, and there are cars that get better gas mileage, and there are cars with equal or greater storage capacity, but not too many that do all three. (I dream about walking onto a car lot and saying: "What do you have in the way of a car that comes with a manual transmission, does 0-60 in the mid 6's, seats 5, has 56 cu.ft. of storage capacity, and gets 30mpg on the freeway?...oh yeah...and that's comfortable and looks good doing it?" I'm afraid that I'd be given a blank stare (Except at the saab dealership.))
I'm pullin' for ya. We're all in this together!
