Of course it's worth saving!

You don't say what the year is, but these cars can last a long time. My 1995 9000 CS is going very strong at 16 years old. It doesn't look new any more, but it looks darn good. It's had two major overhauls, one from an insurance total and one from a blown engine (my fault). The problems you identify are normal maintenance issues and will cost a LOT less than the amount of monthly car payments plus insurance on a new car.

Until it rusts out (and my body shop says these cars are almost always worth fixing) I would say keep it. It's a modern high speed touring car with impeccable manners, good gas millage, comfort and safety at speed, and excitement at the green light. What more could you ask for? Oh, and also enormous carrying capacity. If you throw it away, could you throw it in my direction?

I spoke recently of having to rent a car. I was given a new Ford Focus. It was cute and handy around town, but it scared the dickens out of me at 80 MPH on a dry road.
