Customer comes in with something needing changing, like oil or exhaust. In addition, they tell you your car also *needs* a list of this and that and is needed yesterday. Use a good flashlight and inspect the brake pads yourself. If they're not down to near metal, and are not squeaking like crazy, keep driving until they start warning you that they need changing (like lots of squeaking). The "massive" oil leak source needs to be located and fixed. How much oil are you losing? If it's front crank seal, it shouldn't cost $1000. You should be able to DIY. If you do, be sure to change the oil pump cover seal/o-ring too. These can also leak like crazy.
