My question is prompted by a picture Simon S posted of a page from the Saab 9000 0:2 Technical Data M85-96 manual. It reports that a dry B234 engine and filter have a capacity of 5.8 quarts, and models with an oil cooler have an additional capacity of 0.4 liters.
I don't know how much oil remains in the engine and oil cooling system after the oil has been drained and the oil filter removed. If less than 1 quart of oil remains, then adding 5 quarts does not fill it to maximum capacity.
Is anyone adding more than 5 quarts at an oil change? Results of doing that?
