Thanks for your reply here Skibumm100 !!
It has been all the way since June & I had to review some of this to be able to reply as me olde memory ain't so good anymore...
As things stand, the central locking does as you describe & makes a little noise when the locks are engaged on either side & that is all it does anymore.
(The alarm does set & work, oddly enough.)
In the meantime I had come to peace with being very aware of locking the car 100% manually - mostly because my project list has more urgent items ahead of this - like making sure I have made the space to store & fetch out the snowblower before the ground freezes, etc...
(Of course right now we have torrential rain & high winds & I've no indoor space to do car stuff.)
((Even higher on my car list is fixing or replacing the windshield washer reservoir, also before it gets below freezing here !!))
When the central locking still worked now & then - suspecting that the 'lock' button might be involved & since I had a couple of spare switch modules, I tried changing those in & out but that didn't help at all.
So, when I am able to get into all the various non-critical electrical concerns I'll likely have a really good look at the central locking controller to see if any resoldering may be needed & so forth.
Aside of trivial concerns - I must say that tis car has been a real joy for me to drive & I do sincerely hope that THIS time with THIS car that it will outlive me !!
