Testing the DIC with a Tech2 sounds interesting. I have a Tech2 clone but don't know a lot of the procedures yet for doing things like testing the ignition cassette output voltage.
I have an older used DIC in my '97 CSE and if you really lean into the loud pedal (not something I normally do) it does stumble a bit. In normal driving it's fine.
You only want a red OEM ignition cassette manufactured by SEM in Sweden. The Chinese knockoffs are short-lived junk that may damage your engine if they don't do knock detection correctly. The OEM cassettes have been sold boxed under other brands like Wells and NGK. (I bought a new one a couple of years ago for my '95 CSE under the Wells brand.) Not sure who has the best price right now.
