I called NGK they said would call me back.
The first time they called me back they said "it was made in Sweden"
I said yes, but who in Sweden made it
they called me back again and said it was the oem manufacturer.
which was all I could get from them.
it does have a grid pattern cast into the red piece next to the electrical hookup.
the grind marks are on the other end right above where the sticker would have been
and it looks like there was a sticker which was removed and painted over.
