My V4 has always been able to pass out local emissions testing without trouble. After rebuilding the engine (all stock) and installing a new Weber 34ICH, I am a little high on CO. Retarding the ignition doesn't help. The rest of the ignition and the air filter is stock and fresh and the (manual) choke seems to be working fine. The car runs great and starts easily when cold. My gas mileage has also dropped a bit( to 21-24 mpg in mostly sedate highway driving),leading me to suspect I am running rich. I am planning to pull the main jet out and go down a size or 2 (not sure what I have in right now - most likely a 165?) Any other thoughts? What about a Pertronix ignition? The original ignition doesn't bother me but more mpg and/or performance would be nice. Any opinions on the breakerless system?
