Hi, folks, I've read many posts in the last couple of days trying to sort out my problem. I have a 1994 900S v6 with 123000 miles and it failed to start.
I have recently had the timing and serpentine belts changed and have very little money for more repairs. The ignition system seems fine as the plug I checked sparked against the intake manifold when cranked. The starter is fine. The battery seems ok as it is cranking the starter. My problem seems to be fuel system related. ($$$$$) There was some acceleration lag over the past few months, but otherwise it seemed to run just fine. This makes me suspect the fuel pump:( I do have a few questions for anyone who may be able to help:
1) I was thinking of starting by changing the fuel filter, but I do not know exactly where it is or the proper procedure for changing it.
2) I have also read alot about "Techron" solution and was wondering how it works.
3) How do I disassemble/clean the throttle body and AIC? Maybe this would do the trick?
4) I found a used fuel pump assembly with sender from a 94 900 2.3 for about 10% of the cost of a new assembly. Are there any compatibility issues between engines and is this a DIY project?
Any help would be greatly appreciated as my car is currently parked in a public parking lot (where it failed to start) and I don't have much time to get things figured out.
I know a good tech, but he charges like crazy and like I said, the funds are short.
Thanks in advance,
Chris in NY
