All cars regardless of make have their faults. I don't think Saab has any more incidence of failure than any other manufacturer, but yes, there will be some maintanence required, but not during warranty period. I picked up a 99 9-3 off lease which is still covered until May 2003. Since I've had four classic 900's all go at least 150,000 miles or more, I'm pretty comfortable with their reliability, but I'm a biased source, of course.
