Bad experience or Saab experience?

Okay, I finally got around to test driving a Saab 9-3. I showed up at the dealer, talked to the staff and finally made my way to the car (a 2001 model with 50km on the clock). The test drive went well for the first 15 minutes with most of the driving taking place on the highway. Then all hell broke loose. The car started to smoke, the low coolant warning sounded, lights came on and the car came to a stop. Opened the hood to find the engine soaked in coolant and steam everywhere. An hour latter a tow truck arrived and took us back to the dealer. This entire experience has made me wonder if there's some substantial truth to the dubious tales I've heard about Saabs. Many of my friends think I'm crazy for wanting to buy one and as of this moment I haven't had the guts to regale them with my Saab test drive adventure. I know if I do tell them they'll laugh and tell me "I told you so!" So, with that in mind, I poise this short question... was my test drive merely a bad experience or just a classic Saab experience?
