If I wasn't previously a Saab owner and know how reliable my Saabs have been, I probably would walk away from Saabs in general with a good story.
Seriously though, you can't possibly call it a "Saab experience". Saab would be out of business today if they didn't make decent cars. My Saabs have all gone close to or over 200,000 miles with no more or less wear and tear as any other make. I have a 1999 9-3 as well and I think it's the best Saab I've ever driven - and I've had some great Saabs. I'm no longer sure which one was my favorite, the 1999 9-3, the 1983 900 Turbo, or the 1973 Sonett III. I just got home from my hockey game and drove about 30 miles on the highway - I didn't want the drive to end - the car is so amazing at speed. I literally drove past my turn off so I could listen to the whole Moby - Alone track while driving at speed.
If you're up to it, give it another go, get on the highway, and punch it from 45 to 105. You'll love the feeling.
