Some of you have asked about the salesperson involved in this experience. Well to be honest, this particular salesperson didn’t know squat about Saabs… nor did they know how to drive stick! Thinking back, the entire experience was almost comical! Before I test drove the car I did a lot of research about the 9-3, so by the time I got to the dealer I felt pretty knowledgeable about this car already. During the test drive I did most of the talking, even going as far as to explain to the salesperson the utility of the center console ignition switch and the night panel button - two legendary Saab features that I’d read about the night before! After the car broke down the salesperson (for the record it was a saleslady) stood around and smoked about three cigarettes - maybe due to the stress, maybe because she has an addiction, not sure. At any rate, she had very little to say. Having spent an hour with this person on the side of the highway, I can’t imagine how such an unknowledgeable, quiet and mechanically-handicapped person (again, she couldn’t drive stick) could be in the car sales business. More importantly, I don’t understand why a car manufacture like Saab would hire such a person to sell their product - she wasn’t even good looking. As for the dealership, I emailed them twice a few days latter asking them for an explanation for the coolant leak. That was four weeks ago and as of this moment I still haven’t heard a peep.
