I'm gathering after doing some more reading that I was confused and only the cam position sensor is a function of the Di cassette, but not the crank sensor. Thank you John for pointing me in that direction.
I don't know if these details will help, but I'll give them just in case. My car is a '99 9-3 vert automatic w/ 150K on it. The SID is nearly impossible to read in hot weather, however in cold weather most of the "pixels" will light up on the top line and a sporadic number on the 2nd line or row. The ABS and break warning lights on the dash are always lit in warm and hot weather and 75% of the time when it's cold. I almost forgot- before I replaced the DIC my mpg was about 13, with the newer one I get 16-21 mpg, rarely above 18 though. I checked the fuses and C fuse was blown so I replaced it. Thanks
