The DI cassette isn't hard to check. Unscrew the 4 screws and pull it straight up and out. Plug in some old spark plugs. Lay the cassette on the valve cover so the body of the plugs are grounded. Crank and look for spark. If you get spark it's most likely the fuel pump. Mine went at about 100K without warning. When I cranked it there was not even a spit or cough from the engine. Sudden and complete death.
