I wondered about the fuel pump possibility after searching the boards here for similar problems. It seem though that (tell me if I'm mistaken though) people who have had fuel pump issues had intermittent problems at least initially.
That is was really stands out as odd with my car, after running for 25 min in park, the engine turned off. No intermittent problems or warnings. And now three weeks later, after trying different improvements, it's no better and no worse, except for the dead squirrel under it. I joked to a friend that I would probably find a dead critter somewhere was in the engine because I found salad croutons under the hood. I wondering if my joke might have been a clue?
I appreciate the fuel pump suggestion though George. John mentioned the tach not moving if the crank sensor was the problem, and the tach doesn't move except for a tiny bit for less than a second when I crank it, it is almost an imperceptible move as the guy helping me said he didn't see it when we both watched while I cranked it a couple times. Would tach move if CPS was good but fuel pump was bad?
