Thanks for the suggestion jtm. I honestly don't know if mine has a FPR similar to yours either. I have a 1999 9-3 convertible, automatic transmission, 150K miles.
As an aside- I really want to keep driving this car, unless of course I could afford a later model Saab...So I really appreciate any advice or thoughts on my car problem.
When you had the fuel pressure regulator problem with your car, was there an obvious gasoline odor? From your description it sounds like there would be. My sense of smell is rather blunted, although w/my '89 Merkur I noticed a constant gasoline smell. I don't remember what the problem was but the mechanic found it very quickly and it cost almost nothing to fix or resolve. I guess that story didn't lead anywhere, I thought I had a purpose in telling it....
