Since the sensors never go bad, I would just go out and buy a used one from a junkyard. It must be a lot of them available.
When you start the engine cold, you will always have some sooty water splattering out from the tail pipe. That is just normal condensation water.
If it is oil droplets, it is more troublesome since it would take a lot of oil leak to make it all the way back to the tail pipe.
But if that was the case, you would also have oil smoke billowing out the tail pipe as soon as you start the engine or rev it just slightly.
