Mine is an 02, with over 200K. I don't think there is any trouble spots specific to the Viggen. My list of issues below could as well apply to the 9-3 with the 2.0L B205.
Besides the roof (could be a lot of things, but mine hasn't been replaced, and the hydraulics are original as well. Knock on wood)
They can be a sludge monster, so dropping the oil pan is a necessity, even it it has the PCV#6. Mine has been using a bit less than quart of oil per 1000 miles for the last 120K, but has great gas mileage, pulls hard and pass emissions w/o issues, and I still have the original exhaust and cat ! The exhaust tip stays clean too.
But I have to top off the oil every other week, I'd be wary of a previous owner who hasn't been diligent enough to check. I hear that's a problem with the B205 and B235 motors.
They do eat OEM ignition cassettes every 5 years or so ( I have had three OEM ones installed ). They need the right spark plugs.
MAF don't have the longest lifespan and they can kill an engine if they go bad I hear. CPS sensor seems to die almost as frequently as the Ignition Cassette. Their shorter lifespan might be linked to the engine slightly overheating due to the low speed cooling fan that fails w/o warning. I drove mine for years with the low speed cooling fan not working. The temp gauge never moved, even in stop and go traffic in 110F in AZ. I wasn't aware it. !!
There is also a interior fan speed regulator behind the right kick panel that eventually fail, leaving you with either the interior fan not running or always running at the same speed.
Orange relay in the engine bay can leave you with headlight issues.
Suspension takes a beating with the torquey 2.3L, expect to replace the front bushings (or control arms) more frequently than other cars, same with the engine mounts that seem to be a wear item.
Parts can be harder to get than other 9-3s. I think the brake booster is larger than the regular 9-3 and so are the driveshafts. Someone told me the brake booster on the Viggen is actually the one from the right hand drive 9-5. I don't know if it's true though.
ACC display eventually gives up, and so does the SID display, at least partially.
