Congrats and I hope to see you at the Bay Area Saab Club events. The only problem that I foresee with your plans is that your drive down to Fremont is really going to suck. That is some of the worst traffic in all of the Bay Area. 880 seems wide enough, but there always seems to be an accident. They are widening the highway (maybe they are done) down just past Fremont which is what caused it to become a gnarled mess as you approached the Fremont area. The club had a pick-n-pull gathering and we drove down 880 around 11am and it was just moving at a crawl. I thought the Sonett was going to overheat, but we were moving just fast enough. We also just had a Walnut Creek event too at Dirito Brothers, so you have a nice Saab dealer nearby there. It gets quite hot that far inland, but the humidity is very low. You can also scoot down 680 from WC to 238 and then over to 880 missing most of the 880 traffic. Unfortunately, the Walnut Creek to Berkely via 24 and the Caldecott tunnel also has a reputation for very ugly traffic. As for the rental market, it's a renters market currently. The rental market is very depressed right now with an unbelievable number of vacancies as compared to 1999.
Congrats - this is a very nice place to live (besides traffic in some areas ;-)).
