are that they are more accustomed to westerner than the other way round.

Chinese are not Japanese, so do not do the 90 deg bow like if you were in Japan. Do nod, shake hands, hand out and receive cards/gifts with *BOTH* hands, using both hands is a sign of respect in Asian culture, use that often. Some Chinese, especially older generation, may actually take offense if you treat them with Japanese customs, remember World War II. The key word is *RESPECT*. Making minor cultural mistakes are fine as I am sure they have seen a plenty if they are used to having foreign visitors. You may even joke about your mistakes and ask for cultural guidance. Chinese are great hosts.

Learn the Chinese words for "thank you", "see you later" etc. would go a long way. Oh, yes, if you know to use a pair of chopsticks at meal time, you will impress your host/hostess.

Shenyang is one of the important industrial cities in China through history, location of many heavy industries.

Also, if you are to take pictures or video of building or facilities, ask your guide or host to make sure it is ok to do so. Things have relaxed in time but you never know what they consider as sensitive sites or installations.

As for gifts, if your company has T-shirt or special gift items with company name or logos, that would serve nicely, not to mention great advertising.

Either Peking or Shanghai would offer great weekend experience. Personally, I would choose Shanghai, but that is just me. It is similar to choosing between Washington DC (Peking) or New York City (Shanghai). You can't go wrong with either one, each represents different sight and sound.

Have fun and let us know if you see any Saabs in China :-), there are many VW and Audis, with the usual Japanese makes and some Americans, quite a few luxury cars, BMW, Mercedes, and a few exotics.
