I am looking at a BMW F650CS, a small street bike. While looking through the brochure I saw an option for a carbon-fiber airdam, BMW calls the matierial "carbon-fiber reenforced plastic (CRP)". CR*P, I wonder how that one made it by the marketing people.
This that pretty much somes up what a lot of people around here think of carbon-fiber, and now BMW has confirmed your suspicions.
