We miss ours - she died a couple of years ago at the ripe old age of 19 and 3 months.
I got her as a freshly-weaned kitten and fed her Dads for quite a few years - she remained healthy until the last few years. Regular vet visits are a must and you'll neuter him before he starts to spray (I have a friend who is a 'cellist whose tom cat sprays on her 'cello case - not a good thing!).
You'll need to be aware that most cats have a few screws loose. The really sweet ones (like ours was) have fewer loose ones than the rest of them. But that's also the joy of cats - they'll do things you'll never expect. A floor-length mirror can be good for hours of popcorn behaviour from a kitten - playing hide and surprise with its reflection.
If you're lucky, yours will learn to soak up attention and will be a friend for his long lifetime.
