I don't have the optimism you have concerning hybrid saabs. When news was released of the variable compression engine and the joint-venture with Orbital Engineering, I thought that saab was a pretty forward looking auto manufacturer. Both of those technologies could have made tremendous contributions to lengthen 'sustainability'. But not too much has been heard from either of those two fronts and I still have doubts about the GM takeover. One of the best vehicles GM ever made is now extinct - isn't it naive to think that the same fate couldn't happen again - to our beloved saabs? But what is even sadder to ponder are the jobs - the workers in Trollhatten must now know how workers in Detroit felt during the '70's.
