crazy long trip... need advice

Howdy.
Because I'm "frugal", I'm going to be flying out to Oklahoma to drive a new to me car back to Maryland (in lieu of having the car shipped here). Its about 1200 miles and depending on which mapping site I use, it's somewhere between 17-19 hours.
I will be going on Saturday 7/31 having just gotten back from a vacation two days earlier, so I can't take any more time off. Thus, I have to fly out Saturday and drive back Saturday and Sunday, so that I can be at work on Monday. My wife is not going to be joining me, so I'm doing the drive alone. I'll be arriving out there at 10:30 AM, so assuming all goes well, I should be able to get back on the road by 2:00PM or earlier. I am looking forward to getting the car and I'm not too worried about it's reliability, but I am worried about keeping myself engaged and focused on driving for that long. The car has a cd changer, so I can bring lots of tunes with me.
Any tips on doing the drive and staying focused? I figure if I can get some books on tape that might help. Ever done a drive like this by yourself in such a short time frame? I wish I had more time so that I could explore the sights of the areas I'll pass through, but unfortunately, there's no time...
Look forward to your stories.
