Like the car.
I drove from Tahoe, CA to Spokane, WA four times a year through college...and even left Bellingham, WA (the WA/Canada border) and made it back home (Tahoe area) before dark. Those are 850 miles. Next week I'll be doing a similar trip to you (Billings, MT to Tahoe).
I'll echo other people here. Stretch whenever you get gas and do the potty-breaks! Good music is good, but I find myself scanning the radio from time to time to change it up. Have something to munch on and sip on...that helps me not be wrestless...and it keeps me from having heavy eye-lids.
If you're looking to make good time, make good time by making quick and efficient stops with short stretch/jog sessions at each one. Don't make good time by driving insanely fast. Consistency is key on these trips.
I did the drives in my '89 BMW 325iS, and more recently, in my '93 9000 Aero. A nice car with very nice seats can make or break the enjoyability factor.
Enjoy the new car. Drive safe.
