but it is a tourist town and it is geared for adults than families, i.e. it is not Disneyland. There is a retirement community in the surrounding area and it is a rich town but not overtly so as in parts of Southern California.
Interesting that several posts mentioned antique shops, actually I think there are more arts and crafts shops, art galleries than antique shops. The two towns have more resturants than some big cities. Don't worry the store front, go inside the little galleries and shops. They know you are tourists and they don't mind people going in just to browse. If you like Ansel Adams' work, there are a couple of galleries that carry his work. There are also galleries and shops for figurines sculptures etc.. If both of you are into that kind of things, you would feel right at home.
Yes, it is a great place for people watch 8-).
