To be frank, I'm not sure how I would have reacted to being 'politely' reminded of my offense...
What offense exactly?
Do you also go around telling people not to use their cell phones in hospitals, or in airplanes?!?
Sometimes, there is just absolutely no merit to the popular wisdom going around. Think about it. If in any way a spark was at risk of existing the internal combustion chamber of an engine, it would not function (i.e. 'internal' combustion engine).
Same thing with cell phone use in hospitals and airplanes. All the consumer electronics are made to operate within set parameters and withstand certain interference levels. Do you think airplane and hospital electronics are made to lesser standards? Well many people do and that is shame. They will gladly make themselves agent of the propaganda and go around correcting, just like you did, people who in reality aren't doing anything wrong.
Perhaps you are a busybody and need to get a life!
To think that you told someone to act according to your understanding of popular wisdom is one thing, the fact that you would vent your frustration about your mishap on this board is revealing...
