It is quite simply the best vacuum cleaner ever. We have the Animal 14. Well worth the $500.
My looked at one; I told my wife we were doing a test when we got it home. If it didn't pass my test, it was going back. The sales person agreed we could return it if it didn't pass muster.
I vacuumed 1/2 the carpet with our old cleaner (I put in a new bag first), and the other half with the Dyson. The difference was easy to see, as our cats roll on the carpet and leave lots of hair. I was sold. Then I emptied the canister and re-vacuumed the side I had done with the old vacuum cleaner. The amount of stuff the old cleaner left behind was amazing.
In fact, the only bad thing I can say about the Dyson is the clear dust bin! There's some funky stuff it picks up!
