what you want it for. the platform is only a host to the apps you want. personally i'm an ms kind of guy. work there even and live at tip of tree. i.e. server 2003, yukon sql, longhorn ( os ). etc etc...
but that is just because those are the apps i use...if you like the mac presentation layer and it does your requirements then go for it. i like the look and feel of the mac os but it is almost too far removed from the underlying hw for a geek like me. either way..upgrade means upgrade...go dual proc big gun and then use it for 5 years. drop a SATA raid 0 in their and a good swap/archive drive and...oh right....can't do that on a mac. but it arrives in a cute case....
