Opportunity for SAAB to shine

Saab made a name for themselves during the 70's energy crisis by finding a way to sell a production car with a 4-cylinder engine producing the power output of a 6-cylinder engine through groundbreaking use of turbocharger technology.
The time has come again for Saab to lead the way in economy. Gasoline prices in the United States are again at an all-time high. Worldwide crude prices are breaking records. The more than decade-long love affair with the gas-guzzling SUV is showing signs of fading.
I think now is the time for Saab to lead the way in producing a safe, economical, and fun car again. IMO Saab shouldn't be an "also-ran", they should build on their traditional core strengths: safety, economy, intelligent engineering, Scandanavian design styling, and fun.
