I transferred in to William & Mary actually....not a chance of ever getting in with my high school performance.

It is a wonderful school and is what many consider the Harvard of the south. Consistently ranked in the top 10 public universities in the country.

I was not a typical student...average in high school, no direction. Ended up in a junior college that was a sister school of W&M. GPA was 3.9 there which gave me automatic admittance to W&M. What a shock I received my first semester there...completely different world and my grades reflected it. I adjusted and had a wonderful experience there...albeit very stress filled.

The smartest move I've ever made to this day was going there. The value of that experience I could never measure....the difference in my approach to life, the salary I make, the life I have....I can honestly say none would have happened without W&M. Changed me forever. Things I never expected from life and things that were never expected of me (more importantly) I can only thank the school for.

Anyway, sounds like a commercial for the school. Just wanted to throw it out there for your 11th grade son to consider.
