I have an old (vintage circa 1978) Harmon-Kardon 930 receiver. Very good sound and tone, unfortunately the lights for the tuner have died on one end. Still works wonderfully and is so quiet. I upgraded to a Yamaha receiver in 1983 to get additional input capability, and have used it since.
I use a Thorens TD-160 full manual turntable for vinyl records and have 3 headpieces for different cartridges.
None of the speakers I have used since the original late 1970s Bose 301s have sounded as nice and full. The roll on the speakers just deteriorated to shreds after 20 years. I should have them replaced, but have not gotten around to it.
