was that the all-wheel drive cars reached 20 mph (from 5 mph start) 21 feet sooner, on average, than fwd cars with winter tires (approx. 61 ft. vs. 41 ft.). However, fwd with all-season took approx. 92 ft. for 5-20 mph.
Ice braking (10 mph to 0) were about the same for all vehicles (21-22 ft.)
The vehicles tested were Passat GLX and GLS, as well as a Volvo Cross Country and S60. I don't know how good of all-season tires those vehicles came with in 2002.
